Childhood Movies

"Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what the fuck was going on when I first saw it."

Mariah and I found this out about Pee Wee's Big Adventure directed by Tim Burton our sophomore year of college. I am pretty sure we got high and sat down on the couch and saw the movie was on HBO or something. We were so excited cause we had watched it all the time when we were younger. After, I would say, about a half hour or so, we both just turned towards each other with this look and we both agreed that this was the most bizarre movie we had ever seen which was weird because as a child we never thought that at all. I mean there was that scary part with Large Marge but for the most part we were like, (insert cute little girl voice here)
"Poor Pee Wee lost his bike and he needs it back!" Don't get me wrong, the movie still kicks ass but we literally hadn't seen it since we were little and we were not expecting the bizarro world Tim Burton created. It really makes you think about the child brain and how differently than adults they perceive things.

Now-a-days, I am completely aware of the bizarroness that is Tim Burton and welcome it wholeheartedly. For me, he rarely ever disappoints (sorry but I did not really enjoy Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) and I know he will not disappoint with his newest endeavor, Alice in Wonderland.

I will not be late for this important date.
